Literature Text

The sky went black
And all I could see were red blades and blue roses
Tears dripping from each petal in to the soil.
Every little heart-beat.. embraced an old soul.

Spirits gathered together..
witnessing death of an angel

a loss to our spirit
a defeat for our territory

Every-one watched as life was no longer the same
every drop counted

a new hope,
a new creed given,
a new faith, they promised us with no hate.

That is our story.
Like any other tale, told a long ago
by a passing stranger..

Looking closer, tears are the blood tonight.
heaven burnt down
by a drunk fool

no-one will love again..
all the pride gone..
all the purity..
all the unity.

We betrayed god, a scarecrow said
a new god, not ours
ours was forgotten long ago
turned her back to our homes

darkness has returned to the land
a land once golden of love
and only noble purity

life has new meaning.

All we can, is hope.
for another hero..
maybe a messenger,
to put back some love in our homes.
This is an attempt to write some poetry about Iran, in English. I don’t know if anyone will understand what I am talking about, but here it goes anyway.
The picture was taken (by ?) at Cyrus's tomb (Pasargade Koroush), at what I am guessing is, the 2500th anniversary of the Persian Empire?!

Well anyhow, I hope you enjoy it. Comments and favourites appreciated.
